After rainouts in their previous two matchups and not having played since February 18th, the Panthers were dealt their first loss of the season in their district opener at home on Tuesday night, 8-7.
Trailing by four heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, the Panthers rallied for three runs, but came up just short as the Panthers fell to 2-1 on the year, and 0-1 in 1-4A play.
Travis Allen was dealt the loss for the Panthers as he gave up four hits, 3 earned runs, and 5 walks while striking out 5 in his 4 1/3 innings pitched.
Mike McMillion led the way at the plate for the Panthers, going 2-4 with an RBI and 2 runs scored on the night.
The Panthers will look to rebound on Thursday night as they host Navarre in another important 1-4A matchup.
